"Dodgy returns process"
Dodgy returns process. Back in February I sent back a pair of climbing shoes, following the instructions to the letter. I assumed they'd take care of the refund, so I forgot about it.

Fast forward to April, I notice no refund in my bank account. I see the shoes have arrived at the Banana Finders warehouse thanks to my parcel tracking, so I get in touch with them.

They email back simply saying "a refund was made, please allows a couple of days etc." No apology or explanation for what happened.

Perhaps they hoped I'd never notice!

"Good and reliable"
Good and reliable, with fast delivery. Just what I'd want.

Bananafingers has been my go-to retailer for all my climbing gear for quite some time now and at this point I recommend them as the default online climbing store to most people. Collection was easy, the few times I've done it, though deliveries are sometimes not as fast as advertised which can be an issue when buying gear last minute for a trip. I will give them credit for shipping easily to Northern Ireland though as that can be difficult with some retailers. Their range is good, their staff (in my limited interactions with them) have been helpful and friendly. When I needed to return shoes as the sizes weren't quite right for me, there was no issues at all.

In general, a good online retailer to use. Not always the cheapest, but I trust I'll get things within a day or two of advertised delivery date and that it'll be of quality I can trust. That reliability and quality certainly counts for something, especially when buying gear that my life depends on!

"Ordered climbing shoes and they did not…"
Ordered climbing shoes and they did not fit so returned and ordered a size bigger again did not fit so returned. First pair retuned 20th March confirmed by Royal Mail, second pair returned on 25th March again confirmed by Royal Mail as being delivered on those dates. Still not received my refund for either pair despite being assured that I would receive my refund last week still waiting so Banafingers has £234 of my money and won’t give it back. They don’t answer the phone so customer service is nonexistent. Will never use again.

"Don't waste your time or money!!!"
Don't waste your time on false promises....
Same day dispatch is a joke!!! Just won't happen.
Also when you pay extra for delivery that's just them pocketing the money you won't actually get it if you pay extra for 24 hr shipping...

Service is beyond a joke!!

Don't waste your time and money here go to a beer store of which there are plenty!!!

IL be getting a refund and never using again... Steer well clear of banana fingers!!!!

"DO NOT BUY climbing shoes from this…"
DO NOT BUY climbing shoes from this company unless you know 100% that the size will fit you.

Not only did they send the wrong size shoes in a box labelled otherwise but after I tried them on and found as such they refused to refund as they said they showed signs of wear.

They were not worn, they had been tried and used on the try-on feet holds (much like they have in-store!).

After the refusal they said they would return the shoes to me. Weeks later, no shoes. Contacted them to find out they hadn’t even sent them back.

When they’ve been returned, the store has taken something and deliberately scratched the prints off the bottom to make them now unable to be sold as new - WHICH THEY ARE. So I’m left with shoes that don’t fit and have been damaged by the Banana fingers staff. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

"Great but crapp as well"
Great costumer services except when you ship through DHL.
Bananafingers themselves didn’t stand up on the 2days shipment and haven’t gave dhl the package. After they did dhl is giving me a hard time. They claim the address is wrong when it’s not, and from that point bananafingers won’t help.
So, money went to the trash for a package I have no way of getting.
I would ecxpect a site like bananafingers to use a decent express shipping services and not throw their costumers to the grace of DHL and how they “feel like” treating their customers.
It’s is now January 15 and no one from banana fingers of DHL is answering my mails.

"BananaFingers is awesome"
BananaFingers is awesome. I struggled greatly to find a pair of climbing shoes that worked for me, but ordering many pairs through BF allowed me to quickly and easily try on brands and models that I was unable to find in any local outdoor shops. Shipping was very fast, and I also received very quick responses to any questions I asked. At last I did find my perfect pair (for me it was Unparallel NewTro Lace), and when I returned the many other pairs, I received refunds immediately with no hassle. I definitely recommend BF for any outdoor gear.

"5 orders and always great service"
I have ordered from them about 5 times and always been impressed. There is a great selection of climbing gear with very competitive pricing. The order was always shipped quickly and arrived undamaged. If I order multiple items to see how they fit and return the unwanted ones then the return is always processed correctly. Can't ask for more!

"Lying about free shipment"
They state on the site that it's free shipping in Europe for orders higher than 70 euros.
However, they charge for shipping.

I've already contacted them but I was told that the shipment was too heavy (it was not, they didn't check what I bought).

Then they told me that my country isn't in Europe, which is a lie, it's just not in the european union, like 40% of europe.

Then they just stopped answering.

"Appalling customer service."
Appalling customer service.

Purchased a brand new rope and returned it within 4 months. Rope had no falls or damage as I reported and this was confirmed by Edelrid. The rope sheath had slipped so badly it needed to be cut.

Initially I offered to return the rope for BF to inspect it. They declined despite this being their responsibility under Trading Standards (they are the Retailer). Instead they suggested it was my fault and I should simply cut the rope.

Banana Fingers are entitled to consult the rope manufacturer however it is their position to claim against Edelrid as the Retailer. As the Consumer, I have no basis of claim against Edelrid, which is why Banana Fingers have to pursue a separate claim against Edelrid. I've worked in retail previously so it became very apparent Banana Fingers were simply exploiting this by defaulting to Edelrid's opinion as justification to avoid replacing the rope. Ropes cannot be repaired, only cut, so either it's a replacement or refund.

Edelrid claimed it was n't a failure (?!) or warranty replacement despite confirming no misuse had occurred and the rope could only be used if it was cut. Remember this is a brand new rope with occasional use and purchased only 4 months previously. Rope sheaths simply do not slip in brand new ropes and Edelrid's own advice is to retire ropes with slipped sheaths.

Banana Fingers are too lazy to care then ripped me off further when they offered a replacement rope at cost, only refunding a 23% discount instead of the expected trade 40-50%. This comes after making the point that the issue was looked into by several industry friends with IRATA / LOLER / PPE and former retail (climbing shop) experience. This is beside my climbing, rope access and climbing retail experience since the 1990's.
